Cause of the explosion has not been determined
An explosion in a grain silo has been reported at the Port of Lake Charles, LA, Executive Director Bill Rase confirms.
KPLC TVreports Rase said that preliminary indications are that there are no injuries.
It appears the top blew off the silo, but that the cement and structure is intact. There was also damage to some of the silo's conveyer belts.
The cause of the explosion has not been determined.
The silo is on ground leased by IFG Port Holdings.
