Kicking offFeed & Grain LIVE 2020will be a mycotoxin testing workshop on Wednesday, February 5, at 3 p.m.
This hands-on, hard-working session will be led by Dr. Erin Bowers, associate scientist with Iowa State University.
One of our most popular workshops, Bowers has a mycotoxin overview planned followed by groups working together running analyses using a rapid testing system.
“我们专注的一件事是什么类型的天气有利于促进各种类型的霉菌毒素,这些霉菌毒素是由真菌产生的,”她说。
“Another item we’ll cover is the basis for how testing kits work,” Bowers continues. “Just because a test kit is available doesn’t mean you can use it for any test. Some tests, for example, are only applicable for use testing specific grains or grain products.
“Mycotoxins are important to all types of operations including ethanol producers and grain handlers as they must keep track of how they handle mycotoxins,” says Bowers. “This workshop will build a general level of understanding so that participants will know the right questions to ask to determine what’s right to do.”
