High school and college students who have demonstrated leadership in academics and in their community will each receive a $5,000 scholarship funded byScoular’s CEOPaul Maass和他的妻子朱莉。
Scoular announced on Monday the five recipients of thePaul & Julie Maass Scholarship, a program launched two years ago.
Selection was based upon a variety of factors, including need, leadership in academics and the community, and grade point average, with preference to those demonstrating compassion and community service. Among the recipients: Science Olympian, National Honor Society and leadership program members and participants in activities ranging from marching band to 4-H.
“I am so inspired by these talented young leaders, their achievements and the ways they give back to their communities,” Paul Maass said. “My wife, Julie, and I are passionate about education and excited we can express our gratitude to our dedicated employees by providing these scholarships. Congratulations to this year’s recipients and their parents.”
The recipients are:
- Hailie Deeble (mother, Wendy Eis, operator, Seward, Nebraska.) Hailie is attending Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska
- Kiley McDonough (mother, Kelly Mangold, accounting assistant, Omaha) Kiley is attending Grandview University, Des Moines, Iowa
- Conner Peck (mother, Diana Peck, merchandiser assistant, Salina, Kansas.) Conner is attending Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas
- Jordan Peck (mother, Diana Peck, merchandiser assistant, Salina, Kansas.) Jordan is attending Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas
- Shawnelle Smith (father, Jason Smith, driver, Pittsburg, Kansas.) Shawnelle is attending Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas
The scholarships will assist in funding tuition, books and certain other expenses incurred at a four-year accredited university or two-year accredited institutions of higher learning.
