Dan Hibma's cause of death is currently unknown, but the rescue crews did report that "technical rescue equipment" was needed to remove Hibma from Caledonia Farmers Elevator. The cause of death and the events surrounding it are under investigation. The local community is planning a bike run to honor Hibma's memory.
