A Nebraska grain trader thatoperated for more than two years without a licenseis being fined $28,000.
According to theMitchell Republic, the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission on Thursday, April 14, approved the fine againstCrossroads Cooperativeof Sidney, NE.
The PUC noted the fine was higher because "there was a pattern of no response" when PUC staff contacted Crossroads.
The PUC complaint says Crossroads made more than 700 grain purchases without a license, most recently on February 8, 2022.
