Late last year, Ceres Global Ag Corp., which owns the iconic grain elevator along the canal in Port Colborne, Ontario, signed an agreement with London Agricultural Commodities (LAC) for storage and handling at the site.
According to a report atNiagara This Week, the agreement kicks in this summer, and with the canal open for the season, shipments will soon begin floating into the massive silos.
According to the agreement, LAC will use a majority of the grain silos to store corn, soybeans and wheat, while Ceres will continue to use a small portion of the 2.3-million-bushel capacity silos to store its own oats.
