The Grier farm in Lansdowne, ON, is celebrating the opening of its new grain elevator, reportsThe Gananoque Reporter.
Taylor Earl, a family friend and participant in the project, explained the family began designing the elevator last December with CASA (Comptoir Agricole Ste‑Anne).
The farm also partnered with LAC (London Agricultural Commodities, Inc.), who will market the grain and buy it while the Grier farm will receive it, handle it and bring it to the final destination.
Prior to the Lansdowne elevator, local farmers had to ship their product over long distances.
