On August 1, farmers contracted withViterra's Pleasant Ridge grain elevator in Rensselaer, Indiana, were notified the elevator will close operations on October 15.
According toreports, the company offered to help find alternative delivery points and listed phone numbers to call for questions or concerns.
"Viterra has made the difficult decision to close operations at Pleasant Ridge after contract obligations are fulfilled," noted the letter from the company.
Located in Jasper County, the Pleasant Ridge facility was previously owned by Gavilon.Viterra acquired Gavilonin October 2022 for $1.125 billion and immediately integrated its facilities into its network.
