In recent times, our industry has been guarding against the potential threat ofAfrican swine fever(ASF) and dealing with several outbreaks ofhighly pathogenic avian influenza(HPAI).
It is apparent thatbiosecurity is a constant need, not just a one and done plan. TheAmerican Feed Industry Association’sNutrition Committee is hosting a program on this topic in conjunction with the2023 International Production & Processing Expo(IPPE), taking place January 24-26 in Atlanta, Georgia.
"Biosecurity: Preparedness Must Be Perpetual” will highlight the need for continued focus on biosecurity for the animal agriculture industry.
Dr. Cassandra Jones, professor and ASI Teaching Coordinator, specializing in animal feed safety, livestock feed manufacturing and feed ingredient stability atKansas State University (KSU), will be one of the speakers for the program.
Pedro Urriola, Ph.D.,research assistant professor at theUniversity of Minnesota, is also slated to speak.

- Preparedness and Latest Response Plans from Federal and State Authorities
