ThreeADMemployees are recovering following a dust explosion that occurred April 20 at the company's grain elevator in Decatur, Illinois.
According toreports, ADM and Decatur fire officials said the incident happened just before 9 p.m. at the west plant of ADM’s processing complex.
Firefighters were informed of a possible explosion in the grain processing area. They arrived to find the area damaged and three employees had been burned.
"We appreciate the fast response of the Decatur fire department to quickly get the resulting fire under control," ADM said in a statement. "We are investigating the cause of the incident."
