
Permitting heavier grain and livestock tractor-trailers on Kansas roads and extending agriculture-related fees came before separate legislative committee hearings Thursday in Topeka.
Under House Bill 2095, the Kansas Department of Transportation could issue an annual special vehicle operating permit for tractor-trailer combinations carrying divisible loads and up to 90,000 pounds gross-vehicle weight.
