Columbia Container Rebuilds Transloading Facility
Investing $26 million in new structures, silos and facility improvements
The Western Producers’ Brian Cross reported on the progress of Canada’s Columbia Container $26 million rebuild of a transloading facility on the south shore of the Burrard Inlet in Vancouver, British Columbia. The project will increases transloading ability of the company from 650,000 tones/year to 1.3 million tones /year.

· Improved safety and efficiency
· A more visually attractive site
· Less noise and dust from our operations
· Reduced noise from rail car switches
· Reduced truck traffic

The project started on April 4, 2017 and is expected to be finished by April 30, 2018. The construction is divided into four phases:
· Ground improvements, Excavation, Sheet pile cofferdam,
· Foundations,
· Structures and Silos
· Building Fit Out, Systems, Site works and Rail
