A fire on Friday halted operations at the Presqu'ile Elie silo in Rouen port, France's largest grain export terminal.
“A mechanical incident on a conveyor located outside the installation led to the start of a fire and the cessation of operations,” saidSenalia, the company that runs the facility, in a statement.
“The alert and safety chain worked well. The firefighters were able to intervene very quickly.”
The company expected to restart operations March 7.
