Grain JournalEditor Ed Zdrojewski died May 4 at the age of 68.
Born December 17, 1954, the Cleveland, Ohio, native earned a journalism degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing in 1977.
He joinedGrain Journalas editor in 1994 and wrote more than 500 facility features and the "Northern Star" fiction series.
Zdrojewski was a career-long supporter of theGrain Elevator and Processing Society(GEAPS), where he served a term as chairman of the GEAPS Educational Programming Committee and was named a Cornbelt chapter Member of Distinction in 2018.
In his over 46-year journalism career, he worked for Johnson Hill Press, Cutting Tool Engineering, Bozell Jacobs Kenyon& Eckhardt, Dorf & Stanton Communications, the Benton-Harbor (MI) Herald-Palladium, and the Lapeer County (MI) Press.
“He will be sorely missed by his fellow employees and all those he worked with in the grain, feed and milling industries,” said Mark Avery, executive vice president ofGrain Journal.“He loved the people in the industry and enjoyed going to their facilities. He was a tireless worker and a lot of the success ofGrain Journalwas due his hard work.”
