Whether you’re building a new grain facility or modernizing an existing structure, there are many aspects to consider.GEAPS 510: Grain Facilities Planning and Design Iwill help you evaluate a number of potential factors to make the best decisions for your facility.
This online course from theGEAPS/Kansas State University Distance Education Programidentifies types of grain facilities and their purposes, storage structure types and options, how to determine the storage and handling capacities, and how to select a suitable construction site. At the end of the course, you will be asked to lay out a simple facility.
“The course covers the basics of the industry but also enlightens you on changes and new and upcoming technology,” said Brent Kenworthy, Farmers Cooperative Co. “Most people look at improving a facility by doing major changes and updates, but you can also learn numerous small things we can do to make our facilities more efficient.”
