Deluxe Feeds in Sheldon, IA, a division of the Muscatine-based Kent Nutrition Group, was fined $10,000 by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, according to a release the state agency issued Thursday, May 2.
According to a report atNWestIowa.com, Deluxe was penalized for multiple violations including failure to obtain construction permits for previously installed equipment; construction of a feed mill without construction permits; and failure to comply with National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants or NESHAP.
Deluxe broke ground on a $37 million expansion to its Sheldon facility in September 2017 and that project remains ongoing.
