Firefighters were called to the Grow Smart feed mill in Willow Springs, MO, on October 8 after a blaze started in the leg of a pellet mill, according toHowell County News.
A drive belt on a mechanical elevator caught on fire inside of the leg after it jammed and its gears continued to rotate, Willow Springs Fire Department Assistant Chief Vance Farmer said.
Jessica Brown, vice president of Grow Smart, confirmed toHowell County Newsthat the fire affected a leg of the pellet mill but the damage was contained to a single area.
