TheInstitute for Feed Education and Research(IFEEDER) held its annual Board of Trustees meeting this week to discuss broadening awareness of the value of its research and education initiatives on behalf of the animal food industry, as well as install new board leadership and trustees.
“As IFEEDER advances sustainability efforts to directly benefit the animal feed and pet food industry, it also serves the important purpose of being a trusted resource among stakeholders up and down the food supply chain who are making decisions that will impact the future of food production,” saidLara Moody, executive director for IFEEDER.
“Increasing our presence and engagement with those throughout the food value chain will ensure we have a good pulse on what customers want, which informs our future research and education initiatives."
New chair installed
Mike Schuster, ofLaidig Systems, Inc., was also installed as the new chair of IFEEDER for the 2022-23 fiscal year.
Schuster succeeds Scott Druker, PhD, ofArm & Hammer Animal Food and Production, whose 2021-22 term ended April 30. John Metzger, ofElanco Animal Health, will serve a second term as vice chair for 2022-23.
With the installation of four new trustees (noted with an asterisk*), the IFEEDER board of trustees now includes: Gisele Santos-Bin* ofBASF Corp.; Partha Bora ofWilbur-Ellis; Leah Dorman, D.V.M., ofPhibro Animal Health Corp.; Kevin Halpin, PhD, ofInternational Ingredient Corp.; Steve Lerner, PhD, ofChr. Hansen Animal Health and Nutrition; Scott Lovin* ofAg State; Joe Lucas ofCJ Bio America, Inc.; Ashley McDonald of theNational Pork Board; John Metzger ofElanco Animal Health; Paul Philips* ofMaxi-Lift Inc./Southwest Agri-Plastics, Inc.; and Schuster*.
Outgoing trustees are Tim Belstra ofBelstra Milling Co.; Druker; and Mark Lueking ofCargill Animal Nutrition.
